A WORD FROM SAUCE

Its been a minute since we've had a chance to write an update on the
latest happenings here at Special Sauce. With the holiday crunch in full
swing, our fam and staff have been dedicated to holding it down at both of
our locations in Bayshore.

Now, for those that woke up late- Yes, the dissemination of information is
true. With close to nearly a 15 year savory recipe, our gastronomers have
concocted our third master creation with the opening of our newest store
front in the heart of Huntington Village. Since opening our doors three
and a half weeks ago, its safe to say that most of us have been left in a
haze. While change is always a motivating challenge, the support of our
existing and growing clientele make for a new chapter in the Sauce
movement.

Located an hour by train outside of NYC, the 3,600 sq.ft. space maintains
its rooted foundation in street, skate, and snow. Emphasis will be placed
on more limited and emerging street wear brands, with a growing selection
included for the ladies. In the spring of 2009, our second floor will open
up to a loft style space to showcase a variety of rotating artist showings, brand collaborations, pre-line viewing, and additional office
space.

If you haven't cruised over to Huntington, no worries. Here are a few
images that will peak your curiosity . There's still much work to be done,
but we're off to a bright start. Frequent our website and blog for the latest scoop on brand arrivals and events, including our grand opening party to follow after the new year. The anticipated drop of the new premium headphone line from Nixon has just arrived at Sauce.

Nixon offers three different models, each with high-end design aesthetics (stainless steel earpieces, leather headbands, and high-audio function. Two of the three are over-ear models: the Master Blaster (w/full-sized volume knob and oversized leather cups) and the travel-friendly, fold-able, memory foam-cushioned Nomadic; both come equipped with a patent-pending ball-and-socket connection joint for max comfort.

OSLO OPERA HOUSE IS A STEALTH SKATE PARK

If you haven't heard already- word has been spreading worldwide since Wired dropped the news of the reported stealth skate park in the disguise of an opera house. We know what your thinking- Whaaat, is this for real? Indeed, its true. Based in Oslo Norway, the newly built marvel was brought to life by the the international architecture firm Snøhetta. The firm sourced and collaborated with a team of skateboarders which in turn providing their preferred surface textures to ride. The end result is an inspired glacial structure composed of a variety of marble and granite finishes, and consists of raised ledges, curbs, and benches. One noteworthy spot is the 3-foot-wide railing of smooth stone. For the full read visit Wired.

Lost 5'5" x 19"1/4 Redux DVD

In the winter of 96/97 while everyone was riding 6'1" thrusters featuring Slater's elf shoe rocker, and long before the "retro fish" craze, two kids attacked the North Shore and beyond on 5'5" twin fins. The subsequent action and other oddities ended up being patched and edited into the 1997 Lost surf movie 55 x 19 1/4".

What started out as an addendum of random recent fish clips has turned into a Magnus opus of epic proportion. Over 8, 10, or 12 years in the making comes 5'5" x 19 1/4" REDUX. Starring Chris Ward, Aaron Cormican, and Mason Ho putting sub 5'6" boards to their limits. Also featuring sections from Shane Beschen, Kolohe Andino, Dane Reynolds, Jordy Smith, Ryan Carlson and Ol' Mr. Sl9ner himself.

...and for the first time ever seen, Cory Lopez and Ian Walsh on the wave that could instantly change your definition of the perfect wave. Currently available at Sauce.

With much speculation and depending on what blogs and sites you frequent, they are being referred to as the "Santa Claus" or the "Big Gulp". You decide for yourselves. MADE FOR SKATE OPENING

Back in November we mentioned the Made For Skate event going down in Amsterdam. With the success of the opening reception sponsored by Nike SB, the collective has been keeping busy, promoting their traveling skateboard exhibition. We caught up with the founders Daniel and Juergen who shared the good word with us on the success of their showing.

MONSIEUR T. PRESENTS: WOOD PUSHERS EXHIBITION

The folks over at Monsieur T will be presenting Wood Pushers, a skate/art exhibition opening December 4th, and will be held at the Hecklewood gallery in Portland, Oregon. The show will feature artwork from a variety of creatives, and will be sponsored by Nike SB and Pabst Blue Ribbon. All of the artwork will be available on the Hecklewood website for the duration of the show.

We realize that its been a minute since our last post. With the Thanksgiving sale, the opening of our Huntington location, a lack of sleep, and too much coffee, our Sauce FAM have been on the grind.
